What is Stock Peek?
Stock Peek is a free Windows desktop stock widget designed for checking a watchlist without switching away from your current work.
Move the mouse to the left or right screen edge and Stock Peek reveals Korean and US watchlist quotes, three-month price charts, and portfolio profit and loss.
Core features
- The panel appears at the screen edge and automatically hides when you move the cursor away.
- Search Korean stocks from KOSPI and KOSDAQ and US stocks and ETFs from major exchanges.
- Enter shares and average purchase price to view current portfolio profit and loss.
- View a compact chart based on the last three months of daily prices.
- Place the panel on the left or right edge of any connected monitor.
- Keep the app in the system tray and optionally launch it with Windows.
How to install and use it
- Download the installer: Get the latest `.exe` from GitHub Releases and run it.
- Add your watchlist: Search by company name or ticker. Optionally enter shares and average purchase price.
- Move to the screen edge: Move the cursor to the configured edge. The panel appears and hides when you move away.
Because the independent app is not code-signed, Windows SmartScreen may display a warning. Choose “More info” and then “Run anyway” to continue.
Quote sources and refresh timing
Korean quotes come from Naver Finance and US quotes come from Yahoo Finance public data. The app checks roughly every five seconds during market hours and every sixty seconds after close. Exchange and provider policies may cause delays.
Privacy and local storage
Stock Peek does not connect to a brokerage account or place orders. Watchlist items, shares, average purchase prices, language, and panel position are stored on the user's PC.
If the optional portfolio one-line review is requested, a random device identifier and calculated portfolio statistics are sent to the project's Cloudflare Worker to generate the response and enforce a daily limit. See the privacy and data handling page for details.
